The belated review of Halo 4

I must admit that no one here at Nerdgasm ended up standing in line at midnight amongst the throngs of people waiting for a chance to get our grubby little hands on the newest installment of the Halo franchise. However when Detenate, the But13r, and myself (whitebeansoup) did end up playing it the very next afternoon. I have loved Halo since it's birth; breathed it's alien airs, been splattered by covenant and flood blood alike, we have cheered the victories, and cursed the losses...but my first shot at Halo 4 was disappointing. I was not pleased with multi-player. It was my only issue. I hated the way you unlocked perks, the grenade indicator, and the maps. That was until I spent another 16 hours on it. Then I realized what was wrong with Halo 4. It had been too long of a wait and I had become utterly and completely a Reach Girl. I knew the maps inside and out. I knew where I could hide, hold up, and snipe. I knew where the power weapons were. I was spoiled by my unlimited knowledge of Reach and everything it encompassed. I realized I had become a tainted gamer. Now that we are hundreds of hours deep in the game, we must say, HURRAY! You didn't fuck it up 343. In fact you did a marvelous job. If you haven't grabbed your copy of Halo 4 yet...you must do so quickly. We here at H.Q. are stuck to this game tighter than a plasma grenade on your helmet. The gameplay is breathtaking, the relationship between Chief and Cortana pulls at your heartstrings, and the story is exactly what we Halo fans needed, a next step.

Get some Wookie for National Star Wars Day

Happy holidays everyone and May the Fourth be with you!
When we first heard about the Star Wars Holiday we were pumped. We all love the Star Wars Franchise and have watched each one of the movies over a hundred times between us. We all loved KOTOR as well as the other games and the new Star Wars game for Kinect always leads to an epic good time. Fan Art, Games, hobby/crafts, and spin-off books and shows have always been a treat to enjoy, so we can understand why all of the Nerds have come together to create their own holiday. We all still dream of Princess Leia, call our hairy friends wookies, and pretend almost any stick-like object we hold is a lightsaber.  It's in the Nerd's blood stream to enjoy all things Star Wars (even if there is some unrest between us all over certain aspects of certain movies). Lucasfilms doesn't endorse the holiday and I'm sure by now George Lucas is sick to death of hearing May the Fourth be with you but he is just going to have to deal because we will never stop being fans.

So the question stands on May the fourth of 2012...how are you going to celebrate? Here at Nerdgasm we are all sitting down to a movie marathon and some Kinect Star Wars. We hope that you can find a fitting way to celebrate as well; be it dressing up like Leia for your significant other, doing some saber dueling in the back yard or even just watching the movies. Star Wars is an epic and undying breed of a franchise and deserves it's dues today.
